My narrated experience was not with Jio, but with Vodafone. And that too well before Jio came in, so we were paying through the nose for Rs 250 per GB (3G). The problem was with the tower in my area- internet wouldnt work, but if I walk away for 10 minutes (and the signal switches to another tower), then it used to work all fine. When u or others opted for their service after getting pulled in by jaw dropping offers/prices, didn't thought come about that good / overall satisfactory experience can only be achieved if operator runs with a decent profit or revenue margin on all fronts. It is not fault of Jio but consumers r equally to blame when they just look for everything absolutely free or minimal cost. Searching for affordable option is right , expecting best without paying makes little sense and willing to pay much more by running after brand name is again of no use
I am happy that airtel or vodafone/idea has managed to survive all this time as having monopoly would have been horrible for all of us. Really hope that same does not happen in DTH sector but with people willing to put trust in Independent TV bcoz of promises made in return of minimal investment, i am still quite worried about trends in future.
I am expecting Jio to not be so generous in pricing when they officially launch GigaFiber, they r well aware that increasing debts will be detrimental and not bring value to the business. Proceeding with caution and keeping charting a more balanced course will be the preferred way.
In my home or even most relatives have not taken Jio connection, yes airtel or vodafone did overcharge earlier in some cases but that does not mean that they deserve such harsh treatment from subscribers. Still despite all odds and sky rocketing spectrum cost they r giving better service than Jio, this surely means that they value association with customers and do not want to let them down even when met with toughest times
What I was saying was the way in which Customer Care operates. Even for my problem, they took all details of me, my phone, my address, pin-code, IMEI number, phone model, software version, etc.
Yes, you may say they were doing their job, but sometimes it is outright obvious where the problem lies. Still the CC does not work as expected. My example was of Vodafone, and this thread is of Jio, I agree, but my point was as an addition to @venky bro's ordeal with the Customer Care.
Regarding my stint with Jio, yes- I knew I was signing up for a free service, and hence always kept it as my secondary sim. I did not change my primary connection, and never relied on Jio for anything, be it data or calls or text messages.
