Fed up with Jio call disconnection issue :(

I have been using Jio for primary number and Airtel for secondary number, looks like I will need to swap them if this issue is not resolved quickly.

Exactly my words

Got pissed off with disconnection during the weekend. I had a medical emergency with my brother's kid and was literally getting mad with this. Raised a ticket on this and mentioned about the widespread issue. I also updated that this is happening everywhere and with multiple users. Still, they want me to give them a Building number, street, and address where I faced the issue. Upon giving my home address they are asking me to check the phone as its happening only to me. More conversation led to the way that another guy again wanted Building number address etc. I'm waiting for an update and if they still ask the same question, I will send them a whole list of places.

I'm not wondered about their support as I never had a good support experience from JIO, especially technical glitches and billing. I still have to stick on bcoz of my company policy and good network availability(which is degrading now).

Recently Jio became the largest operator in India, by subscriber base. I had shared this article a few days ago. It provides interesting metrics on Telcos. While it is interesting to note that Jio in increasing in most metrics (revenue, profit, subscriber base), the place where it is lagging is ARPU!

Jio, on the other hand, has shown the opposite trend for the last 6 quarters. Jio’s ARPU for the June 2019 quarter was at₹122, down from ₹126.2 in the March 2019 quarter and ₹130 in the December 2018 quarter. It was at its peak of Rs154 in the December 2017 quarter.

A declining ARPU means subscriber additions on the network outpace its growth in revenue. In other words, every incremental Jio user contributes less to the total revenue and for Vodafone Idea the quality of the user base is improving.

Vodafone Idea vs Reliance Jio — the great Indian telecom battle

After a long 24 hours, I got an update from Jio care, again asking for addresses. I have sent them a whole list of address. Let them dig it. I'm still wondering why are they not concentrating on issues, and interested to fill in the details. I have many friends working with support, running CC business. They rather note down general info and work on the issue.

All points r valid but still cannot comprehend how can Jio be profitable with such meagre charges, infact their return to investment is negative. If i recall correctly, read an article few days buck that Ambani Ji is selling his mobile tower business to reduce debt piling on Jio. Airtel knows this well hence waiting for moment when Jio changes strategy thus bringing much needed sustainable business model which mobile networks r yearning for since long time

Usual crap. Monotonous working. No practicality. They will keep suspecting your handset is the problem. I was also asked IMEI, Brand, Make, Software Update version and what not. The issue was obviously with their network.

When u or others opted for their service after getting pulled in by jaw dropping offers/prices, didn't thought come about that good / overall satisfactory experience can only be achieved if operator runs with a decent profit or revenue margin on all fronts. It is not fault of Jio but consumers r equally to blame when they just look for everything absolutely free or minimal cost. Searching for affordable option is right , expecting best without paying makes little sense and willing to pay much more by running after brand name is again of no use

I am happy that airtel or vodafone/idea has managed to survive all this time as having monopoly would have been horrible for all of us. Really hope that same does not happen in DTH sector but with people willing to put trust in Independent TV bcoz of promises made in return of minimal investment, i am still quite worried about trends in future.

I am expecting Jio to not be so generous in pricing when they officially launch GigaFiber, they r well aware that increasing debts will be detrimental and not bring value to the business. Proceeding with caution and keeping charting a more balanced course will be the preferred way.

In my home or even most relatives have not taken Jio connection, yes airtel or vodafone did overcharge earlier in some cases but that does not mean that they deserve such harsh treatment from subscribers. Still despite all odds and sky rocketing spectrum cost they r giving better service than Jio, this surely means that they value association with customers and do not want to let them down even when met with toughest times
