This writing is about how to discontinue one number for dual sim users who has forced to use one number due to price hike . With more tariff hike coming up, people must prepare to forego one sim. Because with every day passing this problem will be large and better to switched off one SIM for less headache. Here are some suggestion by me.
The main problem for a new user to buy a SIM is that the number purchased may be linked with previous person profile, bank transaction alerts, loan account and may cause huge problem for getting wrong number. There is also laziness of the previous user for not changing the number even after disconnection . This problem can not be solved by the new buyer. No one knows whether a new number buying will be a headache or not for all wrong reasons.
I have seen many person complain or begging in twitter that for reactivation or reissue the older SIMS and Telco forced them to buy postpaid, some old owners even asked the new owners to port out their SIM so that they can re use that number.
Other commentators please give your views and suggetions on these.
- Remove the number from all social media platform like Facebook, Instagram, Phonepe, Twitter, Flipkart etc
- Remove from Aadhar, Income Tax , Bank, alternate number
- Inform all contact numbers that this number is not in use and if possible delete the number from contact list of friends phone himself
- Use the number for say 3 months with switched off mode and open only once in a day and then permanently disconnect the number
- Delete the number by visiting Sanchar Sathi portal
- Add the new / second number for Banking OTP
