South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched its One UI 6 beta program for Galaxy S23 series users. One UI 6 is Samsung’s next-generation customized user interface for Galaxy devices based on the Android 14 operating system that aims to provide a more user-friendly experience. According to Samsung, One UI 6 will bring a complete package of enhancements to Samsung apps and features with a more streamlined design and broader options for personalization.
“Our mission with One UI is to reflect the unique preferences of our users in every aspect of their mobile experience. Every iteration of One UI responds to the needs of our user community, and we look forward to user feedback on One UI 6 as we create a richer, more intuitive experience for all,” said Janghyun Yoon, Executive Vice President and Head of the Software Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
Samsung has revamped many elements of the One UI to provide a more modern look and feel. Some changes include a new default font, new emojis on Samsung Keyboard, and a revamped Quick Panel with an updated layout that allows users to access the most frequently used features and settings. Further, users can adjust the screen brightness easily as the brightness control bar is available by default in the compact Quick Panel. It also has a new instant access option that provides faster access to settings with a single downward swipe at the upper right corner of the screen.
Moreover, One UI 6 includes new ways for users to customize their Galaxy devices based on their habits and preferences. For example, users can set different lock screens based on their routines or specific modes, such as a calming photo of a forest in Sleep Mode. One UI 6 also features a new custom camera widget that lets users preselect a camera mode and a storage location, such as portrait mode and a folder for headshots.
One UI 6 beta program is currently available for Galaxy S23 series users in the United States, Germany, and South Korea. The company is expected to expand its One UI 6 beta program to other regions and devices soon.
