Global Tech Integrated Systems Private Limited and IndJets India Private Limited have been issued In Flight and Maritime Connectivity (IFMC) authorization by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The number of entities issued with IFMC authorizations rose to 17 at the end of December 2021 as per the data published by the Telecom Department.

Global Tech Integrated Systems Private Limited bagged IFMC authorization on 2nd September 2021 wide authorization certificate number 20-820/2021-AS-I. IndJets India Private Limited bagged IFMC authorization on 25th November 2021 wide authorization certificate number 20-821/2021-AS-I.

Domestic flights by airlines don’t offer in-flight connectivity as of now although in-flight connectivity is offered in international flights in Indian Airspace. The Telecom Department had last year issued IFMC authorizations to Inmarsat India and Virtuoso Technologies India Private Limited in April-May 2021 period.

In other news, DoT yesterday  directed all In Flight and Maritime Connectivity (IFMC) service providers to comply with the revised FDI norms post the allowance of 100 percent Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Telecom sector.
