Cabinet extends PK Purwar’s additional charge of CMD, MTNL till 14th April 2021

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) yesterday approved the entrustment of the additional charge of the post of CMD, MTNL to PK Purwar, CMD, BSNL for an extended period of 3 months on top of the 14th October circular which gave him an extended period of 3 months.

PK Purwar whose tenure as CMD, MTNL was earlier extended from 15th October 2020 to 14th January 2021 has now got another 3 months of additional charge. The approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet was intimated by DoT yesterday through a circular on its website.

PK Purwar will now have extended additional as CMD, MTNL from 15th October 2020 to 14th April 2021 until further orders. Purwar had earlier also got the extension of his additional charge as CMD, BSNL on 13th April 2020 with corrigendum issued on 15th April 2020.

PK Purwar will not be entitled to any additional remuneration during the period of holding additional charge as CMD, MTNL apart from CMD, BSNL. BSNL meanwhile is expected to start operations in the two metro circles of Delhi and Mumbai starting 1st of January 2021.

  1. When will this dude have a look at MTNL Mumbai’s FTTH plans? Having plans 3x costly as your competitors will only sink this ship further to the bottom. These misers also give maximum 10 Mbps upload speed and charge ₹750 per 10 Mbps extra upload speeds.

    • Going by the activity on their website they are only enthusiastic on renewing existing 3G promotional plans.
