The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) last week extended the entrustment of the additional charge of the post of CMD, MTNL to PK Purwar, CMD, BSNL for another period of three months.

PK Purwar’s additional charge as CMD, MTNL has been extended effective 15th October 2020 up to 14th January 2021, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The extension is subject to the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

The extension is in continuation with DoT’s order on 13th April 2020 and corrigendum dated 15th April 2020 to ensure that the post of CMD, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) does not remain vacant.

PK Purwar will not be entitled to any additional remuneration during the period of holding the additional charge. PK Purwar has taken charge of MTNL CMD multiple times in the last six years.
