State owned telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Friday for the second time extended the validity of its standalone broadband plan Work@Home until 20th June. The extension was notified through a circular on Friday following the lapse of earlier validity.

According to a BSNL Chennai circular, the Work@Home broadband plan will be available on a promotional basis until 20th June 2020. To recall, BSNL had initially launched the Work from Home plan back in March 2020 with one-month validity. The availability of the standalone plan was to expire on 19th April 2020. BSNL Tamil Nadu had later in April announced the extension of the Work at Home plan for another period of 1 month up to 19th May 2020.

While the lockdown restrictions have eased a bit, normality will not return anytime soon with Work From Home continuing in multiple companies. The extension of the validity of the Work@Home plan will help those who are in need of a high-speed broadband connection currently.

To recall, the Work@Home plan is a standalone broadband plan available to all the existing BSNL landline customers who are not having broadband. The broadband plan offers up to 10 Mbps speed till the consumption of 5 GB data per day, followed by 1 Mbps stunted speed. The plan is available across all circles except Andaman and Nicobar.

It also offers unlimited download and upload limit, and 1 free email ID with 1 GB space. The calling and additional facility is as per the existing landline plan, whereas the ISD charges are as per the existing ISD tariffs.

BSNL notes that the installation charges and security charges shall be waived off during the promotion period while CPE and Modem should be customer owned. After the expiry of the promotional period, the customers will be migrate to regular broadband plans. The facility of the plan is only available for a period of one month from activation.
