Vivo Y28 5G with 6.56-inch HD+ display, MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC launched in India

Vivo has launched the Vivo Y28 5G smartphone in India. The phone features a 6.56-inch HD+ display, MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, a 5000mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Further, the Vivo Y28 includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication and comes with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. The phone runs on the Android 13 operating system with Funtouch OS 13 customization on top.

The Vivo Y28 5G features a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 × 720 pixels) IPS display with 269 PPI pixel density, a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 840 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6020 (7nm) chipset paired with Mali G57 GPU, up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The phone also supports a microSD card of up to 1TB for expandable storage.

In terms of optics, the Vivo Y28 sports a dual-rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone has an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor with f/2.0 aperture housed in a waterdrop notch display. The phone packs a non-removable 5000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging technology.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 4G VoLTE, 5G SA/NSA, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, proximity, color temperature sensor, magnetometer, gyroscope, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 163.7mm × 75.4mm × 8.09mm and weighs 186 grams.

The phone comes in Glitter Aqua and Crystal Purple color options and is available to purchase from the Amazon website, Flipkart, Vivo e-store, and leading retail stores in India.
