Tejas Networks in its concall stated that it was the L1 in the tender for BharatNet GPON expansion tender which it will be looking to close in the quarter. It further stated that the 4G project of BSNL is also there as it was planning for a nationwide 4G network.
The two tenders will leave scope for two equipment to be procured with one of them being a wireless base station which is also known as LTE Base station for which a lot of global systems integrators are planning to participate.
Tejas has been developing its own LTE product for the last few years. The large system operatos will be front-ending on the wireless side and this is a new product for Tejas.
Tejas Networks CEO Sanjay Nayak further added, “We expect that BSNL’s fundraising plan and all the other things will head them in the right direction and once they come out with those projects we should be looking at some business from those projects as well.”
