Samsung has introduced a new security tool known as “Auto Blocker” for its Samsung Galaxy users to keep their phones safe from threats and other malicious sources. Auto Blocker enables new levels of device protection.
Auto Blocker is now available through Samsung’s newly released One UI 6. This new security tool aims to expand security & privacy innovations under the Galaxy Ecosystem.
“At Samsung, we constantly strive to keep our users safe from security attacks, and with the introduction of Auto Blocker, users can continue to enjoy the benefits of our open ecosystem, knowing that their mobile experience is secured. We always seek to empower our users to choose for themselves what best suits their needs — rather than us deciding on their behalf, and Auto Blocker is no exception to that,”
said Dr. Seungwon Shin, EVP & Head of Security Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.
Auto Blocker has a wide range of security measures and controls. It prevents the installation of apps from unauthorized sources, which is also known as sideloading. This feature will be off by default for those who sideload apps safely or extensively customize their devices.
Auto Blocker can also help to detect and prevent potential malware or commands via USB cable by turning on app security checks. Message Guard also comes with a new update with Auto Blocker, which guarantees Zero-click attacks. It can help protect users using third-party apps other than messaging apps from Samsung and Google.
Users can now use Auto Blocker on compatible Samsung devices with One UI 6. Auto Blocker is currently not available on US carrier models.
