Samsung Galaxy S21 series with Dynamic AMOLED 2X display launched

Galaxy S21 series will be available for purchase in India starting January 29, 2021.

Samsung, on Thursday, launched Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra smartphones at an online Galaxy Unpacked event. Galaxy S21 series features Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with HDR10+ support, ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and run One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. All phones are IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.

Samsung Galaxy S21 5G specifications

Samsung Galaxy S21 5G features a 6.2-inch Full-HD+ (2400 × 1080 pixels) Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. For international markets, the phone includes an Exynos 2100 (5 nm) SoC, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (5 nm) chipset for customers in the US, Korea, and China. It includes 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy S21 5G comes with a triple rear camera setup of 12MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, 12MP f/1.8 79-degree wide-angle-lens with OIS support, and 64MP f/2.0 telephoto lens with a 76-degree field of view, and 3X hybrid optic zoom. On the front, it has a 10MP f/2.2 camera with an 80-degree field of view. The phone comes with a 4000mAh non-removable battery that supports 25W USB PD 3.0 (PPS) certified fast charging, 15W Fast Qi/PMA wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include a proximity sensor, barometer, gyroscope, ambient light, hall sensor, accelerometer, magnetometer, and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. The phone measures 71.2 × 151.7 × 7.9 mm and weighs 171g (mmWave) / 169g (sub6).

For international markets, the phone includes an Exynos 2100 (5 nm) SoC and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (5 nm) chipset for customers in the US, Korea, and China. The phone comes with an 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM paired with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage and 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM paired with 512GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with a quad rear camera setup of 12MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, 108MP f/1.8 wide-angle lens with 83-degree field of view, 10MP f/2.4 with 3X optical zoom, and a 10MP f/4.9 telephoto lens with 10X optical zoom. The phone has a 40MP f/2.2 camera on the front with an 80-degree field of view. The phone comes with a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W USB PD 3.0 (PPS) certified fast charging, 15W Fast Qi/PMA wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G, and a USB Type-C port. The phone measures 75.6 × 165.1 × 8.9 mm and weighs 229g(mmWave) / 227g(sub6).

Pricing and availability

Samsung Galaxy S21 8GB +128GB variant is priced at Rs. 69,999 and comes in Phantom Violet, White, Pink, and Grey color options, while the 8GB + 256GB model cost Rs. 73,999 and comes in Phantom Violet, White, and Grey color options. Samsung Galaxy S21+ 8GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs. 81,999 while the 8GB + 256GB variant cost Rs. 85,999. The phone comes in Phantom Violet, Sliver, Black color options. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 12GB + 256GB variant cost Rs. 1,05,999 and comes in Phantom Black, and Silver color options, while the 16GB + 512GB model is priced at Rs. 1,16,999 and comes in a single Phantom Black color option.

Starting January 15, 2021, customers can pre-book Galaxy S21 Series across Samsung’s exclusive stores, retail stores, Samsung India e-store, and leading online e-commerce websites in the country. All customers who pre-book the Galaxy S21 series will get Galaxy Smart Tag for free and a Samsung E-Shop voucher of up to Rs. 10,000. All pre-booked customers can get Galaxy Watch Active 2 or a combo of Galaxy Buds+ and Travel Adapter with any Galaxy S21 smartphone. Customers can also avail HDFC Bank cashback offer of up toRs. 10,000, or they can get an upgrade bonus of up to Rs. 5,000.

Pre-booked customers will start getting the Galaxy S21 series on January 25, 2021, while the smartphones will be available for purchase in India starting January 29, 2021.
