South Korean tech giant Samsung, on Wednesday, has launched the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G, and Galaxy A72 smartphones in a Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event. All three devices run on Android 11 OS out of the box with One UI 3.1 customization on top. The devices come with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance and feature Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display, quad-rear cameras, and Dolby Atmos support. Samsung has also promised that the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G, and the Galaxy A72 will receive software upgrades for three generations and security updates for a minimum of four years.

Samsung Galaxy A52 specifications

Samsung Galaxy A52 features a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display with 407 PPI and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (8 nm) chipset paired with Adreno 618 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. It also supports a MicroSD card of up to 1TB but uses a shared SIM slot.

Galaxy A52 comes with a quad-rear camera setup of 64 MP f/1.8 primary camera with OIS support, 12 MP f/2.2 123-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5 MP f/2.4 macro lens, and a 5 MP f/2.4 depth sensor. On the front, it has a 32 MP f/2.2 camera. The phone is fueled by a non-removable 4500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging technology.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ Glonass/ Beidou/ Galileo, 4G VoLTE, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, ambient light, proximity, and an optical in-display fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 75.1 x 159.9 x 8.4mm and weighs 189 grams.

The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (8 nm) SoC paired with Adreno 618 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. It also supports a MicroSD card of up to 1TB for expandable storage.

In terms of optics, the Galaxy 72 comes with a quad-rear camera setup of 64 MP f/1.8 primary camera with OIS support, 12 MP f/2.2 123-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5 MP f/2.4 macro lens, and an 8 MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with OIS and 3X optical zoom support. It has a 32 MP f/2.2 camera on the front. The phone is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ Glonass/ Beidou/ Galileo, 4G VoLTE, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, ambient light, proximity, and an optical in-display fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 77.4 x 165.0 x 8.4mm and weighs 203 grams.

Pricing and availability

Samsung Galaxy A52 with 6GB+128GB variant is priced at EUR 349 (Rs. 30,170 approx.) while the 8GB+256GB variant will cost EUR 409 (Rs. 35,360 approx.). On the other hand, the base variant of the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G with 6GB+128GB is priced at EUR 429 (Rs. 37,080 approx.) while the top variant with 8GB+256GB is priced at EUR 489 (Rs. 42,270 approx.).

The Samsung Galaxy A72 with 6GB+128GB will cost EUR 449 (Rs. 38,820 approx.), and the 8GB+256GB variant is priced at EUR 606 (Rs. 44,010 approx.). All phones come in Awesome Blue, Awesome Violet, Awesome Black, and Awesome White color options. Samsung is yet to reveal the pricing and availability details about the newly launched A-series smartphones for the Indian market.
