After months of leaks, OnePlus on Thursday finally launched the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G smartphone in India and Europe along with the OnePlus TV Y1S Series. This handset is a successor to the Nord CE and offers improvements, upgrades over it although in terms of design both are very similar.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G features a 6.43-inch full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, 409ppi pixel density, sRGB and Display P3 colour gamut. It has HDR10+ certification and there is Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the screen.
Under the hood, this smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G chipset with an ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage that is further expandable via a microSD (dedicated slot) up to 1TB.
For photography, the handset comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary OmniVision sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera with 119-degree FoV, and a 2 MP macro lens. The primary camera has an f/1.7 aperture with features like nightscape mode, portrait mode with bokeh flare filter and improved backlit video shooting.
The selfie camera on the top right punch-hole cutout of the screen is a 16MP Sony IMX471 snapper. Both front and back cameras support Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). Additionally, there is also a Dual-View Video feature, which allows recording with both front and rear cameras simultaneously.
It packs a 4,500mAh battery with 65W SUPER VOOC fast charging while can charge the device from 20% to 75% in just 15 minutes and from 1% to 100% in 32 minutes. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is priced in India at a starting price of Rs. 23,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant and Rs. 24,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. It will be available in Bahama Blue and Gray Mirror colour options. The sale for this smartphone is going to start from February 22 through Amazon, the company’s official website and offline retail stores.
