Idea Postpaid Nirvana will soon be Vodafone Red Postpaid

Vodafone Idea’s Nirvana to RED migration will be culminating come this June end as the telecom service provider has now set the rescheduled date for the last phase of its Idea Nirvana to Vodafone RED postpaid migration. Vodafone Idea has this around time around included Maharashtra & Goa and Madhya Pradesh in the list of states that will latched on to Vodafone RED in the last phase of the migration.

OnlyTech had a fortnight back sent Vodafone Idea a detailed questionnaire on the status of Nirvana to RED migration in Maharashtra & Goa and Madhya Pradesh circles as there were no notices regarding the same. Till the time of filing this story, Vodafone Idea has chosen not to respond to us, however Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra & Goa circles have now found their inclusion in the Phase 4 of Nirvana to RED migration.

Idea Cellular website reads, “Starting June 29th, all our valued Postpaid Nirvana customers in Delhi, Maharashtra & Goa, West Bengal, Kolkata, Assam & North East, Uttar Pradesh (West), Uttar Pradesh (East), Madhya Pradesh circles will be a part of the Vodafone RED family.”

The rescheduling has been necessitated due to COVID-19 pandemic which threw a spanner into Vodafone Idea’s Phase 2 Nirvana to RED migration involving Gujarat, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, and Rajasthan which was delayed due to COVID-19. The phase 2 migration which was supposed to take place on April 6 was put back to May 11. The migration happened successfully on May 11 with customers across the 8 states latched onto Vodafone RED.

As we file this story, Vodafone Idea is gearing up to migrate its Idea Nirvana customers to Vodafone RED in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. Vodafone Idea has put up notices on its websites informing imminent migration in the Southern India states.

OnlyTech had initially broken the migration of 8 telecom circles in phase 2 which was set for May 11. The same was followed with a report on imminent migration in 19 telecom circles, with subsequent reports on successful migration of 8 telecom circles, and rescheduling of phase 3 migration to June 8.

Vodafone Idea had initially just migrated Mumbai to Vodafone RED postpaid from Idea Nirvana on March 9. The phase 2 migration was rescheduled from the earlier April 6 date to May 11. The phase 3 migration as a result has been also put back from April 20 to June 8. The phase 4 migration in turn now put back from May 11 to June 29.

Come June 29th, Idea Nirvana brand will be obsolete. That said, multiple Idea Nirvana users migrated to Vodafone RED have been complaining of poor customer care service on Twitter along with multiple issues caused during the migration.
