We had a strange experience from Airtel for a PORT IN request. We submitted for POSTPAID Port in and the Airtel store guy who did the porting, was awesome that, it was done to PREPAID. The POSTPAID request was especially done to make it work in J&K as my brother is a soldier. We went to store and the store manager was not surprised about this, and attitude was that it's one of their common mistakes. The funniest part was that he declared that the person who did the Porting process is not their staff.

We were then promised that within 24 hours, he will be arranging someone to get it converted to POSTPAID, and the promise melted by evening, and now he is like I may see, its Sunday etc. Even the twitter team didn't help, they didn't even as for the mobile number to check the issue. We were getting snippet saying Please give us time to check this. I wonder how they were checking it without asking the phone number.

Now we have to run behind the Store people to get this fixed before he joins back the force in 3 days. If the conversion doesn't work, his primary sim will be a dummy.

We had to recharge the sim, as he needs to make calls (we were promised ) and told that the recharge amount will be reflected in billing cycle once POSTPAID conversion is done. Will this really happen?

One of my friends experienced this and sad to say bro all they told was to wait for 90 days because a port request has to be sent and port is only possible after 90 days from previous port which was exhausted while converting to Airtel prepaid.

Actually it is almost like peanuts. In Airtel Postpaid conversion from prepaid, you will get MAX Rs100 discount for every FULL month validity remaining in Prepaid. So for example, if you have done Rs1999 recharge for 12 months (though no one will do as they are waiting to convert to Postpaid asap) you will get Rs1200 and rest of Rs799 is gone through the drain. In case of Rs3599 plan, you will lose Rs2399.

So at the max do the 28 days recharge and wait for fast conversion to Postpaid. The Level of Apathy of these Airtel store guys is way too much to bear bro.

We escalated this to Airtel Grevience and some action is started. We got multiple calls from the same Store manager on this. Anyway we got the thing converted at another store. The recharge amount will be adjusted in the upcoming bills.

We got email from appellate and nodal teams just now asking for the store location details.

Their attitude of "What you can maximum do is 121" is at least not tolerable for me.

Regarding the Family plan, we need more data for my work, as well as my brother. So the daily limit plan won't work.
