Vodafone Idea has followed in the footsteps of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel to finally increase the data offerings on its Rs 98 Data pack by 100 percent. Vodafone Idea however as of now is providing standalone validity of 28 days, which is not linked with what Jio and Airtel are providing.
According to the prepaid listings on the Vodafone India website, Rs 98 data pack is now offering 12 GB of high-speed data with service validity of 28 days. To recall, Vodafone Idea earlier used to only offer 6 GB of high-speed data with 28 days validity on its Rs 98 data pack.
The entire saga started around a month when Reliance Jio upgraded all of its 4G Data Vouchers to offer 100% more data along with the bundling of off-net calling minutes. Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea chose not to respond to Jio’s move back then.
This however changed with Bharti Airtel a week ago increasing the data offerings on its Rs 98 data pack by 100% while retaining the standalone validity. This was followed by the removal of the standalone validity making the validity coterminous with the base plan.
Vodafone Idea has now followed Bharti Airtel to up the data offerings on its Rs 98 Data pack by 100%. At the same time, similar to Bharti Airtel it has restrained from upgrading the offerings on its Rs 48 Data pack keeping the pack limited with 3 GB high-speed data. It is highly likely that Vodafone Idea could follow suit and remove the standalone validity on its Rs 98 Data pack.
At the time of filing this story, the upgraded data offerings were only in select circles namely Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Delhi, Mumbai, and UP East. OnlyTech advises its readers to check the data offerings in their circle twice before recharging with the plan since the upgraded offerings are only live in select circles.
Idea Cellular network customers can also enjoy the upgraded data offerings with the Idea Customer website also reflecting the upgraded offerings.
