Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, has launched the Vivo Y22s in Vietnam. The phone features a 6.55-inch HD+ waterdrop-style notch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, 50-megapixel primary sensor, 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, and extended RAM 3.0 technology that uses the internal storage as additional RAM. Vivo Y22s runs on Android 12 OS out of the box with Funtouch OS 12 customization on top.

Vivo Y22s features a 6.55-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 530 nits peak brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (6 nm) chipset paired with Adreno 610 GPU, 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage. It also supports a microSD card of up to 1TB via a dedicated slot. Vivo Y22s includes extended RAM 3.0 technology that converts 8GB of internal storage into additional RAM.
The Vivo Y22s comes with a dual-rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 lens. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone has an 8-megapixel sensor on the front with an f/2.0 aperture. Vivo Y22s is equipped with a non-removable 5000 mAh battery that supports 18W (9V/2A) fast charging technology. The battery is claimed to deliver up to 21.5 hours of HD movie streaming on a single charge.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth version 5.0, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port for charging and OTG. Sensors include ambient light, gyroscope, proximity, accelerometer, magnetometer, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometric authentication. Lastly, the phone measures 164.30 × 76.10 × 8.38 mm and weighs 192 grams.
Pricing and availability
The Vivo Y22s is priced at VND 5,990,000 (around Rs. 20,500) for the single 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. It comes in Starlit Blue and Summer Cyan color options and is currently available to purchase via the Vivo online store, Shopee, and Lazada in Vietnam. The company is yet to announce the availability of the smartphone in global markets.
