Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has launched the Vivo Y22 smartphone in India. The phone features a 6.51-inch HD+ display, MediaTek Helio G70 SoC, dual rear cameras, 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and runs Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12 OS out of the box. Further, it includes an IP5X rating for dust protection and an IPX4 rating for water resistance.
Vivo Y22 specifications
Vivo Y22 features a 6.51-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 70 percent NTSC color gamut, and up to 530 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G70 (MT6769) chipset paired with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage. It also supports a microSD card via a dedicated slot for expandable storage.
In terms of optics, the Vivo Y22 includes a dual camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and making video calls, it comes with an 8-megapixel camera on the front with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The phone is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an USB Type-C port for charging and OTG. Sensors include an accelerometer, proximity, magnetometer, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 164.30 × 76.10 × 8.38 mm and weighs 190 grams.

The Vivo Y22 is priced at Rs. 14,499 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The phone comes in Starlit Blue and Metaverse Green color options and is available to purchase via Vivo India e-store and retail stores in India. The company is yet to announce the availability details of the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the smartphone.
