Vi’s VoWiFI service now available in Maharashtra & Goa, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Gujarat
The service is available in Mumbai and Gujarat apart from Maharashtra & Goa and Kolkata.
Vi (formerly Vodafone Idea) earlier this week has expanded the availability of its recently launched VoWiFi service to four telecom circles. The service initially launched as a beta in Kolkata and Maharashtra and Goa telecom circles for prepaid customers only. The service was subsequently made available for postpaid customers in both circles allowing all Vi Mobility customers in Kolkata and Maharashtra & Goa to use the ViWoFi service.
The service is available in Mumbai and Gujarat apart from Maharashtra & Goa and Kolkata. The service remains unavailable in other telecom circles for the time being.
“We would like to inform you that VoWiFi is currently applicable for Maharashtra, Kolkata, Mumbai and Gujarat. However, Once VoWiFi is launched all over India, customers will be notified through sources,” said Vi in a tweet.
The support for Vi VoWiFi remains restricted to only a bunch of select smartphones including Redmi and OnePlus brand phones. iPhone and Samsung among other brand handsets don’t yet support VoWiFi services from Vi.
