In an effort to enhance international travel convenience and provide subscribers with a cost-effective solution, Vi (Vodafone Idea) has launched a comprehensive international roaming campaign. The telecom operator, on Monday, announced the launch of its international roaming plan for Maldives.
Vi has included the Maldives in its coverage, recognizing the growing number of Indian travelers visiting the country. The Maldives pack, priced at Rs. 2,999, includes 100 minutes of calling (both incoming and outgoing), 5 GB of data, 10 outgoing SMS, and free incoming SMS, with a validity of 10 days.
Post the allocated outgoing and incoming minutes, charges apply at Rs. 3 per minute, while the rest of the world calls are priced at Rs. 35 per minute. Data usage beyond the allotted 5 GB incurs a charge of Rs. 1 per MB, and for SMS, post-quota rates stand at Rs. 1 per SMS.
Vi subscribers can now enjoy seamless voice calls and data connectivity while exploring popular global destinations, including the USA, UK, Australia, Italy, Malaysia, Germany, Singapore, Brazil, and more. The expansion of Vi’s international roaming services underscores its commitment to providing a convenient communication experience for travelers globally.
Vi’s International roaming packs emphasize free incoming calls across 100+ countries, available at a nominal starting price of Rs. 133/day on the Rs. 3,999 international roaming unlimited pack. This pricing strategy aims to offer subscribers an affordable option for international roaming subscriptions.

Vi does not offer free outgoing SMS in any international roaming packs. Even airtel and jio offer very less outgoing SMS in all the international roaming packs. Really frustrating.
