Sony to launch Xperia 5 V on September 1

Sony has announced the launch date of its new flagship smartphone, the Xperia 5 V. The company will host a launch event on September 1, 2023, at 4:00 PM JST (12:30 PM IST) and will be live-streamed on the Sony Xperia official YouTube channel. The Sony Xperia 5 V is said to be the successor to the last year’s launched Xperia 5 IV.

The Sony Xperia 5 V is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will come with up to 16GB of RAM. Furthermore, it is expected to feature a notch less 21:9 aspect ratio display and a vertically placed dual-rear camera setup with an LED flash.

According to reports, the smartphone could come in Black, Blue, and White color options. The Xperia 5 V is likely to run the Android 13 operating system out of the box and could support 33W fast charging technology. It also revealed that the phone will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.
