Samsung Galaxy Note20, Note20 Ultra 5G with Infinity-O display, S Pen support launched

South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra 5G at an online event on Wednesday. Both devices come with IP68 water and dust resistance rating and run Android 10 OS out of the box with OneUI 2.1 customization on top. Both Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G support eSIM by Airtel and Jio, and the service will be available soon on Vodafone.

Samsung Galaxy Note20 specifications

Samsung Galaxy Note20 features a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Infinity-O Super AMOLED+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 60Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by an Exynos 990 (global) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ (US) chipset paired with Mali-G77 MP11 (global) or Adreno 650 (US) GPU. It comes with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone comes with S Pen that has 26ms latency.

Galaxy Note20 packs a triple rear camera setup of 12 MP f/1.8 primary sensor with dual-pixel autofocus and OIS, 64 MP f/2.0 telephoto with 3x hybrid optical zoom and OIS, and 12 MP 120-degree ultrawide angle lens. For taking selfies, the phone has a 10 MP f/2.2 camera on the hole-punch display.

Connectivity options included are dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS/ BDS/ GALILEO, and USB Type-C 1.0 port. Sensors include a gyroscope, proximity, compass, barometer, accelerometer, and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader located under the display. The phone comes with a non-removable 4300mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging and 9W reverse wireless charging technology.

Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G specifications

Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G features a 6.9-inch WQHD (1440 x 3088 pixels) Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 19.3:9 aspect ratio and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone has an Exynos 990 (global) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ (US) chipset, Mali-G77 MP11 (global) or Adreno 650 (US) GPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. It also supports MicroSD cards but uses a shared SIM slot. The device comes with an enhanced S Pen that has 9ms latency.

Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G sports a triple-rear camera setup of 108 MP f/1.8 with laser autofocus and OIS, 12 MP f/3.0 periscope telephoto with OIS, 5x optical zoom and 50x hybrid zoom, and 12 MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle lens. The rear cameras support 8K recording at 24fps, 4K at 30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60/240fps, and 720p at 960fps. On the front, the phone has a 10 MP f/2.2 camera on the Infinity-O display. The device comes with an enhanced S Pen that has 9ms latency.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 is priced at Rs. 77,999 for the 256GB storage variant, while the Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G is priced at Rs. 1,04,999 for the 256GB storage variant. The devices are available for pre-booking via Samsung.com and across leading retail stores in the country.

Customers pre-booking the Galaxy Note20 will get benefits worth Rs. 7,000, and the customers pre-booking Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G will get benefits worth Rs. 10,000. These benefits can be redeemed on the Samsung Shop app on select products, including Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Watches, Galaxy Tabs, and more.

Customers paying with HDFC Bank Credit and Debit Cards will be eligible for cashback up to 6,000 on purchase of Galaxy Note20 and up to Rs. 9,000 on purchase of Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G. Existing Galaxy users will be eligible for an additional discount of Rs. 5,000 in exchange for their current Galaxy smartphone.

Galaxy Note20 comes in Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, and Mystic Green color options, while the Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G comes in Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, and Mystic White color options. Samsung is yet to announce when the devices will go on sale in the country. However, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G will be available for purchase in select markets starting August 21, 2020.
