Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G launched in India

South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched the Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G smartphones in India. The Galaxy A34 features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Infinity-U AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, and a 48-megapixel primary sensor. In contrast, The Galaxy A54 includes a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Infinity-O AMOLED display, Exynos 1380 chipset, and a 50-megapixel primary sensor. 

Both smartphones come with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. Further, they are equipped with stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos technology. Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G smartphones run on the Android 13 operating system out of the box with One UI 5.1 customization on top.

Samsung Galaxy A34 5G specifications

Samsung Galaxy A34 features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ (1080 × 2340 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1080 (6nm) chipset paired with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It also supports a microSD card for expandable storage but uses a shared SIM slot.

In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy A34 sports a triple rear camera setup of a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 and optical image stabilization (OIS) support. It also has an 8-megapixel 123-degree wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. Galaxy A34 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging technology.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth version 5.3, 5G SA /NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, proximity, gyroscope, magnetometer, and an in-display optical fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 161.3 x 78.1 x 8.2mm and weighs 199 grams.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080 × 2340 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, and up to 1000 nits brightness. Under the hood, the phone has an octa-core Exynos 1380 chipset paired with Mali-G68 MP5 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It also supports a microSD card for expandable storage but uses a shared SIM slot.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G packs a triple rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with /1.8 and optical image stabilization (OIS) support. Moreover, it has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it has a 32-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens. The phone comes with a non-removable 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging technology.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth version 5.3, 5G SA /NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, proximity, gyroscope, magnetometer, and an in-display optical fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 158.2 x 76.7 x 8.2mm and weighs 202 grams.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G is priced at Rs. 30,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant cost Rs. 32,999. The phone comes in Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite, and Awesome Silver color options.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is priced at Rs. 38,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant cost Rs. 40,999. The phone comes in Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite, and Awesome Violet color options.

Both phones will be available from Samsung e-store, Samsung exclusive stores, and leading retail stores in India starting March 28, 2023.
