Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 11 Prime, Redmi 11 Prime 5G, and Redmi A1 smartphones in India. The Redmi 11 Prime and the Redmi 11 Prime 5G feature a 6.58-inch full-HD+ display, up to 6GB of RAM, and packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The Redmi A1 is a budget device that includes a 6.52-inch HD+ display, dual-rear cameras, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. All smartphones run the Android 12 operating system out of the box.

Redmi 11 Prime specifications

Redmi 11 Prime features a 6.58-inch (2408 × 1080 pixels) full HD+ IPS display with a 20.7:9 aspect ratio, 30/60/90Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, and 400 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 6nm chipset paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Further, it supports a microSD card (up to 512GB) via a dedicated slot.

In terms of optics, the Redmi 11 Prime includes a triple rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and making video calls, it has an 8-megapixel camera on the front with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The phone is equipped with a non-removable 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.3, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and OTG. Sensors include an accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, magnetometer, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 164.0 x 76.1 × 8.9 mm and weighs 201 grams.

Under the hood, the phone has a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 12nm chipset paired with IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU, 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. It also supports microSD cards of up to 512GB via a dedicated slot for expandable storage.

Redmi A1

Redmi A1 includes a dual rear camera setup of an 8-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens and a 0.3-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The phone packs a non-removable 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging.

Sensors include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro-USB 2.0 port. Sensors include an accelerometer and a virtual proximity sensor. Lastly, the phone measures 164.9 x 76.75 x 9.09 mm and weighs 192 grams.

Pricing and availability

The Redmi 11 Prime is priced at Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 14,999. The phone comes in Flashy Black, Peppy Purple, and Playful Green color options. The company is yet to announce the availability details of the smartphone.

In contrast, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 15,999. The phone comes in Thunder Black, Chrome Silver, and Meadow Green color options. Starting September 9, 2022, the phone will be available via Amazon India, mi.com, Mi Home stores, and retail stores in India.

The Redmi A1 is priced at Rs. 6499 for the single 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. It comes in Classic Black, Light Blue, and Light Green color options. Redmi A1 will go on sale in India starting September 9, 2022, at 4 PM IST via the Amazon India website, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and retail stores.
