The OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 have been launched at an online event. The OnePlus 8 Pro is available in Glacial Green, Ultramarine Blue, and Onyx Black color options, while the OnePlus 8 is available in Glacial Green, Interstellar Glow, and Onyx Black color options.

OnePlus 8 Pro specifications

OnePlus 8 Pro sports a 6.78-inch QHD+ (1440×3168 pixels) Fluid AMOLED 10-bit display with HDR10+ and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) chipset paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The phone has an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass front and Gorilla Glass back.

The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with an Alert Slider switch that allows users to switch between sound, vibrate, and silent mode. The phone also includes dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

OnePlus 8 Pro boasts a quad-rear camera setup of 48MP f/1.78 Sony IMX689 primary sensor, 8MP f/2.44 telephoto, 48MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle lens, and 5MP f/2.4 color filter lens. It has a 16MP f/2.45 Sony IMX471 front camera on the punch-hole display. The rear camera can record 4K videos at 30/60 fps, 1080p video at 30/60/240fps, and the front camera support 1080p recording at 30fps.

The phone has a non-removable 4510mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging, 30W fast wireless charging, and 3W reverse wireless charging technology.

OnePlus 8 specifications

The OnePlus 8 features a 6.55-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with HDR10+ and 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) chipset paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. Similar to OnePlus 8 Pro, the phone has an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass front and Gorilla Glass back.

OnePlus 8 comes with a triple rear camera setup of 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX586 primary sensor, 16MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle lens, and 2MP f/2.4 macro camera. It has a 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX471 front camera on the punch-hole display. Just like OnePlus 8 Pro, the rear camera of OnePlus 8 can record 4K videos at 30/60 fps, 1080p video at 30/60/240fps, and the front camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

The phone has a non-removable 4300 mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging technology.

Both, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 runs Android 10 based OxygenOS 10 out of the box. For connectivity features, both devices support dual-band wifi, Bluetooth 5.1, 4G LTE, 5G, NFC, and USB 3.1 GEN1 Type-C port for charging and USB on-the-go. Both devices come with an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

Pricing and availability

The OnePlus 8 Pro 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at $899 (around Rs. 68,700), and the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at $999 (around Rs. 76,300). In the UK, the phone costs GBP 799 (around Rs. 76,400) for 8GB/128GB and GBP 899 (roughly Rs. 86,000) for 12GB/256GB variant.

The OnePlus 8 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at $699 (around Rs. 53,400), and the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at $799 (around Rs. 61,000). In the UK, the phone costs GBP 599 (around Rs. 57,200) for 8GB/128GB and GBP 699 (around Rs. 66,800) for 12GB/256GB variant.

Both devices are available for pre-order and will go on sale in the UK starting April 21, 2020, and in the US starting April 29, 2020. OnePlus is yet to announce the pricing and availability details for the Indian market.
