Infinix has launched the Infinix Smart 8 smartphone in India. The phone features a 6.6-inch HD+ display, MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, a 50-megapixel primary sensor, and a 5000mAh battery. Furthermore, the Infinix Smart 8 runs on the Android 13 Go Edition operating system out of the box with XOS13 customization on top.

The Infinix Smart 8 features a 6.6-inch HD+ (1612 x 720 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 500 nits of brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 (12nm) chipset paired with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. It also supports a microSD card of up to 2TB via a dedicated slot for expandable storage.
In terms of optics, the Infinix Smart 8 sports a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an AI lens with Quad LED Ring flash. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel sensor housed in the hole-punch display. The phone packs a non-removable 5000mAh battery.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, dual 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Further, it also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Lastly, the phone measures 63.6mm × 75.6mm × 8.5mm and weighs 189 grams.
Pricing and availability
The Infinix Smart 8 is priced at Rs. 7,499 for the sole 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. It comes in Timber Black, Shinny Gold, Galaxy White, and Rainbow Blue color options and will be available through Flipkart starting January 15, 2024. Customers purchasing the phone using ICICI Bank or Bank of Baroda cards will get a 10 percent discount, which brings the effective price of the phone to Rs. 6,749.
