The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has invited public comments on the draft guidelines for registration process of M2M Service Providers (M2MSP) & WPAN/WLAN connectivity provider for M2M services. DoT in this regard has prepared the draft guidelines with stakeholders requested to provider their comments by 1st July.
As part of the M2M guidelines, any telecom licensee wishing to provide M2M services to third parties would need to register as M2MSP. Authorized telecom licensee/M2MSP who may wish to provide connectivity for M2M services to third parties would also need to register as WPAN/WLAN connectivity providers.
Connectivity providers using LPWAN technologies operating in unlicensed spectrum shall be under licensing through a new authorization under UL namely UL (M2M).
