The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) recently has launched a new portal dubbed TAF-COP to help subscribers find out the number of mobile connections working in their name. The existing guidelines from DoT only customers to only have a maximum of up to nine mobile connections in their name.

The new portal will help subscribers take action and regularise their additional connections if any. The telecom service providers however are primarily responsible for the handling of the Customer Acquisition Form (CAF).

The portal allows one to be intimated through SMS if they have more than 9 mobile connections in their name and also take necessary action for the same. One needs to log in with their number on the TAF-COP portal to access it.

The website notably however is half-baked right now with the landing page merely being a white page. One needs to visit the index.php microsite on the website to access the portal. The portal is believed to have been developed by the Vijaywada Telecom Department. The portal for the time being remains limited to Andhra Pradesh telecom circle and will be extended later on to other circles on a pan-India basis.

This website has been developed to help subscribers, check the number of mobile connections working in their name, and take necessary action for regularising their additional mobile connections if any. However, the primary responsibility of handling the Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) lies with the service providers,” reads a note on TAF-COP portal.

Is that website not up yet? For me, it is just opening a blank page that only has the word TAFCOP at the top left corner.
