DoT employees can now only reimburse Landline/FTTH/Broadband/datacard facilities from BSNL/MTNL

The provisioning of telecom facilities and reimbursement to officers of DoT has been decided with the approval of the competent authority.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) earlier this week on 30th March 2021 notified that the officers of DoT can only use the network of BSNL/MTNL for their residential service telephone connections (RSTC) i.e landline/broadband/FTTH/Datacard facilities for availing reimbursement facilities. DoT officers can however use a network of any service providers for their GSM service Mobile connections.

DoT officers can only reimburse their service landline/broadband/FTTH/datacard facilities if they furnish the bills of BSNL/MTNL starting 1st April 2021. The provisioning of telecom facilities and reimbursement to officers of DoT has been decided with the approval of the competent authority.

The reimbursement of telecom facilities used by the officers of DoT as per their and designation is in accordance with the celing fixed by the Department of Expenditure. The Union Cabinet had earlier given the approval for mandatory utilization of network of BSNL/MTNL by the Department/Ministries of Union of India.

It has now been decided with the approval of the competent authority that for availing reimbursement facilities, the officers of DoT can only use the network of BSNL/MTNL for their Residential Service Telephone Connections (RSTC) I.e Landline/Broadband/ FTTH/ data card facilities and they can use a network of any service providers for their GSM Service mobile connections. The officers can only reimburse their service landline broadband FTTH/datacardfacilities if they furnished the bills of BSNL/MTNL wef. 01.04.2021, said DoT in a circular.
