The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) recently conveyed the approval for the SP code at the new location for Tata Teleservices Limited. The approval came after considering the request from the company for a change of location and service area for the allocated SP Code.

Tata Teleservices Limited’s NGN/IMS network element in Kerala LSA with SP code 11124 has been given the green light for the change of location. The network element installed at Greams Lane, Chennai will be moving to TTL Hyderabad due to service area change.

The Telecom Department had last year also approved a similar request from TTSL wherein the Telecom Department allowed a change of SP code in Karnataka, UP East, UP West, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat LSA.

The Department’s regulation mandates the utilization of SP codes within 6 months from the date of allocation. In case, the same does not happen the allottees are mandated to report the same to DoT along with the surrender of the SP codes.
