Bro you can watch live tv from dth section on airtel xtream mobile app you have to clear app data bcoz your iptv account don't link automatically till now. mine was also not showing iptv account after clearing data and cache it's working perfectly but xtream app have lots of bug sometime video don't play you hear only audio get error Ah snap! something went wrong
@abhi1276 do you know how to pair iptv stb- remote with tv remote to control tv volume from stb remote. Old 'Xstream dth' stb remote pairing method is not working in this new remote. After enabling hdmi cec only mute button is working but not volume button.

Just look at the picture quality difference between jio livetv (iptv) and airtel iptv.
While this jio stb is connected to jio 5g mobile hotspot and airtel stb is connected to airtel fiber 1gbps connection.

Jio live tv

Airtel iptv

4x Zoomed picture showing 1/4th of the tv screen. Notice the books in the background.
Both are sd channels (Cnbc tv 18). Most of the Hd channels are in same quality in both of the stb.
This is just one example. I think jio is providing more sharp quality picture in most of the sd channels.

It's because jio provides uncompressed feeds from the providers directly whereas dth providers use compressed c-band feeds.

Aftab bhai, what's your take on this? I'm seriously planning to ditch all my other connections (I have Excitel and Jio AirFiber right now) as soon as Airtel IPTV is launched in Delhi.

Speaking of picture clarity, there's no doubt that JioTV provides much better quality for all the SD channels, especially news channels — that's why my father loves it. However, entertainment channels are a nightmare for my mother because of their unpredictable behavior. For example, Sony's digital feeds sometimes don’t work at all, and other times they don’t match the scheduled programming. The same goes for Star Plus — the JioHotstar digital stream often doesn't follow the scheduled EPG, and you already know about the poor quality of JioHotstar’s streamed channels. Zee channels redirect to Zee5 for some reason, and while the feed plays in 720p on the Jio STB, it streams in 1080p everywhere else when I use my Zee5 account. Plus, the unscheduled and untimely ads are just ridiculous — that’s why my mother simply hates the Jio STB.

That said, JioTV+ is still doing its job — it’s a bit challenging at times, but it plays everything on time without buffering issues. The main reason I want to switch to Airtel IPTV is to avoid these redirections to different apps. A DTH/native stream for all channels would probably make life much easier for my mother.

Would you be able to share a video comparing the picture quality between JioTV+ and Airtel IPTV? I love the native version of all the channels, but I don’t want to compromise on picture quality.

Thanks for all the information so far!

@himanshu42 bhai You should go for airtel iptv or dth for the convenient and correct programs viewing as of now. Then after you can switch to jio iptv whenever it will launch.
