I dont know from where you get your information if you want to know Mobile Internet is cheapest in the world in India now almost every person in the country has a mobile phone. I had my first mobile in 2006 that times the phone rates were very costly had to pay for each phn call and monthly bill for talking to family for 5min/day will be around 200-300rs now unlimited call/data you you can talk for literally whole month if you want to that too video call.

If you want to know a more recent example in my college days I made 1 grp call in 2014 that is using normal call with 4-5 ppl for 30min cost me almost 150rs since Jio came with free internet we friends have free Voice call/Video call every weekend lasting hours for the same 200rs pack.

I dont know whether you have visited foreign countries I did last year to Thailand and took a sim for 15 days cost me 300Thai Bhat or almost 650rs and it had no free unlimited Internet only free 15 apps other internet browsing is paid. However intbig advantage in Bangkok is every busstop has unlimited free internet so you actually need Internet in cities like Phuket or Koh Samui than Bangkok.
I'm not against cheap internet plans, but Sake of one Telecom company they destroyed whole Telecom industry. Like earlier we have so many telecom companies if Network and Good Offers not there most of people ports to another network, sim/number validity too long term once Recharge minimum amount. Now One company or one businessman or Ruling everywhere One company doesn't make sense.

Its not one company Airtel is giving good fight to Jio. Previously we had 10 telecom players that once upon a time I had sim from almost 8 telecom players the 2 I didnt have were Reliance Comm which was CDMA and MTS again CDMA had a Tata Indicom for a single sim CDMA phone Along with all the GSM sims

Airtel
Vodafone
Idea
BSNL
Uninor
Aircel
Docomo
Virgin Mobile(partnered with Docomo)
T24(partnered with Docomo)

Still I have most of the old sim cards but the problem is once you have this many players they are going to be loss making the only way to survive is consolidation like Vodafone Idea merger or the Docomo Virgin T24 Uninor merger with Airtel or the third option is to sale your spectrum like Videocon did or just go bankrupt like Aircel

This is what is happening now in the broadcasting industry also like Disney Star came together Sony and Zee are coming together.

Some ran out of business because of corrupt practises. Remember 2G Spectrum scam? Some spent money on other ventures rather than on network and became bankrupt. Than also almost every other network sucked in rural areas. We had to change sims for call connectivity leave alone internet. Even famous ones took days and weeks to restore internet when it went down in major cities. This use to happen in 2016-17 itself. Jio changed the space. I don't like monopoly either. But telecom is a space where quality thrives over quantity.

It was 2G/3G scam by the Congress government.

However what the reality is with the arrival of Jio this helped the common people of India. Now every person in India is able to get Internet connectivity for super low rates and we are world leaders when it comes to Digital initiatives like UPI.

So I dont know how you are saying it is bad for the common man

I'm Not sure about it's from Congress or Bjp or Dmk, Read that article how corrupt Reliance fools other telecom companies from their Dummy name company. Then or now also Government Favor of one company and pushing other companies to shutdown/merge and BSNL sidelined just for that telecom company.

Same thing it was the UPA government right
Nah, not same thing. You said Congress. It was Congress' alliance partner. If your business partner steals doesn't mean you be also referred to as a theif.

There was no foul play here. Mukesh Ambani couldn't enter telecom market for a certain period after Reliance was split.
