Popular food delivery services like Zomato and Swiggy have often been criticised for their high fees, and recent increases have only added to user frustration. Amid these hikes, a customer took to X to highlight the issue, sharing a comparison between prices on the app and those at a local restaurant.

The user’s pictures revealed that the same food items were nearly Rs 184 cheaper when ordered directly from Murugan Idli Shop in Chennai, compared to the higher prices on the delivery platform. This significant discrepancy left the user shocked and disappointed.

These comments makes no sense. He is complaining about prices of the items. Swiggy and Zomato already charges extra like delivery charge, packing charge, platform charge, distance charge, rain charge and surge charge along with memberships. Than why inflate prices where you are already taking money for the convenience.

A YouTuber’s interview with Swiggy and Zomato delivery agents in Bengaluru has given the internet some interesting insights into their earnings. Loveena Kamath, the woman behind the Full Disclosure YouTube channel, spoke to two delivery agents in the IT capital of India, and found that both of them earn more than the average IT engineer.

These Swiggy, Zomato agents earn more than some software engineers

I have seen lots of this type of videos where Indian IT engineer have been compared with taxis` Wala , local vendor etc , who keeps earning more than entry level Indian IT jobs but any IT engineer who pats attention and acquire new skills will starte earning good money after 5/6 years and keeps of jumping to earn good money .same cannot be said about local vendors or taxi waalas
