BSNL Chennai launches five new prepaid international roaming facility

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Chennai has launched a new prepaid international roaming facility in the network of HI3G- Denmark, Dhiraagu- Maldives, MTEL-Montenegro, MAXIS- Malaysia, and Hutchison- Macau. These prepaid international roaming facilities are available only for the customers of BSNL Chennai Telephones.

Tariff details of international roaming facility in the network of HI3G, Denmark

Mobile originated local, and national calls cost Rs. 55.17 per minute. Mobile originated calls to India cost Rs. 38.62 per minute. Mobile terminated calls are charged Rs. 2.52 per minute. Mobile originating SMS costs Rs. 2.21 per SMS and GPRS data costs Rs. 0.0064 per 10 KB.

Tariff details of international roaming facility in the network of Dhiraagu, Maldives

Mobile originated local, and national calls cost Rs. 25.62 per minute. Mobile originated calls to India cost Rs. 200.70 per minute. Mobile terminated calls are charged Rs. 110.43 per minute. Mobile originating SMS costs Rs. 34.165 per SMS and GPRS data costs Rs. 10.1 per 10 KB.

Mobile originated local, and national calls cost Rs. 33.10 per minute. Mobile originated calls to India cost Rs. 236.46 per minute. Mobile terminated calls are charged Rs. 54.00 per minute. Mobile originating SMS costs Rs. 14.19 per SMS and GPRS data costs Rs. 5.68 per 10 KB.

Mobile originated local, and national calls cost Rs. 41.21 per minute. Mobile originated calls to India cost Rs. 234.91 per minute. Mobile terminated calls are charged Rs. 3.60 per minute. Mobile originating SMS costs Rs. 44.30 per SMS and GPRS data costs Rs. 11.33 per 10 KB.

Mobile originated local, and national calls cost Rs. 36.23 per minute. Mobile originated calls to India cost Rs. 220.49 per minute. Mobile terminated calls are charged Rs. 54.32 per minute. Mobile originating SMS costs Rs. 42.18 per SMS and GPRS data costs Rs. 1.69 per 1 KB.

Mobile originated calls to other countries are categorized into zones. Zone wise list of countries along with its tariff charges is available on the BSNL Chennai website. To avail the service, customers need to replace the existing prepaid sim with new New International Roaming SIM (Dual IMSI Seamless SIM) at CSC.
