Xiaomi is gearing up to launch Mi TV Stick in India on August 5, 2020, at noon. Xiaomi India has posted a teaser on its official twitter handle that reveals the launch date. The Mi TV Stick was unveiled in Europe this month for EUR 39.99 (around Rs. 3500). Xiaomi’s latest offering will take on Amazon Fire TV Stick and will allow users to stream content from various OTT platforms, including Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and Amazon Prime Video.

Mi TV Stick specifications

The Mi TV Stick is powered by a quad-core Cortex-A53 chipset paired with Mali-450 GPU, 1GB RAM, and 8GB storage. The Mi TV Stick runs Android Pie (9.0) out of the box. Connectivity options included are dual-band Wi-FI 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth version 4.2, one HDMI port, and one Micro USB port for powering the device.

Mi TV Stick supports streaming videos at up to Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution at 60fps. It also supports Smart Cast that allows users to cast media from iPhone, iPad, Android device, or laptop to the TV, and DTS and Dolby Audio decoding. The device comes with a Bluetooth remote with Google Assistant support. Mi TV Stick comes pre-installed with Google Play Store that allows users to install more than 5000 apps.

Lastly, the device measures 92.4 x 30.2 x 15.2mm and weighs 28.5 grams.
