Vi (Vodafone Idea) has recently pulled the plug on its Double Data benefit for Andhra Pradesh & Telangana subscribers. The Double Data benefit however continues to be available across all existing VIL telecom circles bar the above-mentioned one.
As per Vi, the data quota benefit MRP 299, MRP 499, and MRP 699 is 2GB of high-speed data per day for Andhra Pradesh & Telangana subscribers. The company has highlighted the same on its website at multiple places including the Vi Hero Unlimited microsite and Vi ZEE5 Premium bundle microsite among others.
Vi customers in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana will currently only get truly unlimited calls, Binge All Night, Weekend Data Rollover, 2GB high-speed data per day, 100 SMS per day, and ZEE5 Premium access for 1 year. The change has happened recently with Vi’s tariff disclosures with TRAI indicating the company had offered 4GB/day in August 2021 in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle when it bundled ZEE5 Premium with the Double Data benefit plans.
Vi recently bundled its Rs 299, Rs 499, and Rs 699 unlimited plan with ZEE5 Premium. The company on 29th July 2021 amended Rs 299, Rs 449, and Rs 699 prepaid plan to bundled ZEE5 Premium subscription with the same. Vi has also deployed additional 5 MHz of 900 MHz spectrum in the Mumbai telecom circle to increase the total 4G bandwidth.Â
VIL in AP&TS circle did not renew its expiring license for 4.4 MHz of 1800 MHz in the recent auction. Thanks to which subscribers here would have to experience 4G on just 5 MHz of B3 spectrum as an anchor band. This is nothing but a joke. Now their 3G refarming activity is only limited to 5 cities, B41 coverage is patchy and never available indoors. @Esmail, @Basil can you confirm the date of expiry. As per one of your article it should expire on 1st September. As of today B3 is still running on 10 MHz. It should expire anytime in this month if it is not 1st September
The expiry is on 29th September, not 1st September, so wait for another 3 weeks to see the changes.
