Twitter has launched its Twitter Blue subscription service to users in India, Brazil, and Indonesia. Twitter Blue subscription service is also available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
In India, the Twitter Blue subscription is priced at Rs. 900 per month for Android and iOS users, while users paying via the web can subscribe to the service for Rs. 650 per month or Rs. 6,800 annually.
Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, previously said in a tweet that the Blue subscription cost would be “adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity.” However, this does not seem to be the case, and the Twitter Blue subscription price is almost the same as in the US.
For the unaware, the Twitter Blue subscription in the US costs USD 11 (around Rs. 910) per month for Android and iOS users, while users paying via the web can subscribe to the service for USD 8 (around Rs. 660) per month or USD 84 (around Rs. 6945) annually.
In addition to the blue checkmark, Twitter Blue offers the ability to edit a tweet, post longer videos, bookmark folders, customize the app icon, and set NFTs as profile pictures. Twitter accounts over 90 days old can sign up for Twitter Blue, and subscribers are also required to confirm their phone number as part of the signup process.
