The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday partially accepted the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) request for extension of the deadline to file monthly and quarterly reports for the period 30th April 2020. While, the COAI asked for a six week relaxation, TRAI has instead offered a two week relaxation only.

TRAI said that it had considered the requests of COAI for extension of time to submit monthly and quarterly reports by a period of 6 weeks for the period ending 30th April 2020 and 31st May 2020. TRAI stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs had granted certain relaxations and permitted a great number of activities with a view towards eventual normalization of the economic activities.

However, given the current situation TRAI granted a relaxation of two weeks from the respective due dates in respect of all monthly and quarterly reports for the period ending 30th April 2020 in the larger public interest.

Earlier in April, it had provided a six week relaxation to the from due date to file monthly and quarterly reports to TRAI due in April 2020.
