The Telecommunication Engineering Center (TEC), New Delhi recently issued a notification approving the extension of validity of existing Type/Interface Approval Certificates issued by it.
TEC has issued the extension after considering the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country. The validity of existing Type/Interface Approval Certificates has been extended for a period of 6 months subject to conditions laid out by TEC. Applicants holding such certificates need to submit an undertaking for submission of application for voluntary certification before the expiration of current validity.
“The Applicant (Type/Interface Approval Certificate holder) shall submit an Undertaking for submission of application for Voluntary Certification (renewal case as well as a new application in case of revision of TEC Standard of a product) before the expiration of current validity,” said TEC in a notification.
TEC is also working setting up the CPE & TL lab at TEC, New Delhi with the aim on having testing laboratories within the country for testing and certification of telecom devices in India itself. TEC has recently set up a state-of-the-art Green Passport Lab for standardization of test procedures and certification of telecom equipment for Green Passport (GP).
