Sony LIV introduces individual profiles

Sony Pictures Networks India’s OTT platform Sony LIV is rolling out user profiles for the friends and family who share Sony LIV accounts. The feature currently rolled out on Android mobile app.

Each account will allow to setup upto five profiles including kids profiles and offers parental controls and profile locking for kids profiles. However only two streams will be allowed simultaneously. Multiple profiles is one of the features promised by the streamer when it was revamped earlier this year.

After Netflix, Amazon Prime Video has introduced profiles earlier this year with each account to allow upto six profiles. Disney+ Hotstar is currently the only leading streamer in India which doesn’t offer multiple profiles. However, thier support team on Twitter confirmed that they are working on introducing the feature, with Sony LIV joining the bandwagon it’s only a matter of time Disney+ Hotstar catches up with the competition.

In other news, Sony LIV recently introduced new plans LIV Special and LIV Special Plus which are priced at Rs. 199 and Rs. 399 annually. Sony LIV Premium which offers the English shows and movies along with LIV originals, and live sports costs Rs. 999 annually.
