SonyLIV has strengthened its subscription plans portfolio with the introduction of two new annual subscription plans LIV Special and LIV Special+ which are priced at Rs199 and Rs399 respectively. The new subscription plans have been recently rolled out in the last few days although the exact date of introduction is unknown.
According to the dedicated microsite for subscription plans on SonyLIV’s website, LIV Special is priced at Rs199 with a yearly subscription which will allow its users to win in KBC Play Along Gold 10 Lakhpatis every day. The plan offers access to all shows at the same time as TV, downloading of episodes, and live sports preview up to 10 minutes. Subscribers will however only be able to watch highlights of sports with live streaming of sports not available in the plan.
LIV Special+ plan priced at Rs399 also offers a yearly subscription with users able to win in KBC Play Along Gold 10 Lakhpatis every day. The plan similar to LIV Special access to all shows at the same time as TV with downloading of episodes allowed. The plan serves no ads except in sports preview, live linear channels, Games, and KBC Play Along. The live streaming of sports is limited to 10 mins preview along with watching of highlights. The plan similar to LIV Special doesn’t offer live streaming of sports.
SonyLIV is offering a 7 days trial of both LIV Special and LIV Special+ which can be availed by credit card users. The non-availability of live sports in LIV Special+ is a major disappointment with rival Disney+ Hotstar offering the same in its VIP subscription which is priced at the same price point. The non-availability of SonyLIV Originals is also another major disappointment with rival Disney+ Hotstar offering Hotstar Specials as part of its VIP subscription plan.
