Samsung, on Tuesday, has launched the Galaxy S20 FE smartphone in India. The phone is the toned-down variant of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone. Galaxy S20 FE runs Android 10 out of the box with OneUI 2.5 customization on top and comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE features a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. The phone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 990 (2 x 2.73 GHz Mongoose M5 & 2 x 2.50 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4 x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) chipset paired with Mali-G77 MP11 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. It also supports microSD cards of up to 1TB but uses a shared SIM slot. The global variant of Galaxy S20 FE comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE sports a triple rear camera setup of 12 MP f/1.8 primary sensor with OIS, 8 MP f/2.0 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and 12 MP f/2.2 123-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone has a 32 MP f/2.0 camera on the Infinity-O Display.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS/ BDS/ GALILEO, 4G LTE, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include proximity, magnetometer, ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, hall sensor, and an optical fingerprint reader located under the display. The phone comes with a non-removable 4500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging, 15W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is priced at Rs. 49,999 for the single 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The phone comes in Cloud Red, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, and Cloud White color options. The pre-orders for the Galaxy S20 FE starts October 9, 2020, and will go on sale starting October 16 via Amazon, Samsung India e-store, and select retail stores in India.
