Samsung, on Friday, launched the Galaxy M34 5G smartphone in India. The phone features a 6.5-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Exynos 1280 SoC, a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS support, and a 6000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. Samsung Galaxy M34 5G runs on the Android 13 operating system out of the box with One UI 5 customization on top. The company promised to deliver up to four generations of OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates.

The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G features a 6.5-inch (1080 × 2340 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 1280 (5nm) chipset paired with Mali-G68 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage. The device also supports a microSD card of up to 1TB for expandable storage.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy M34 5G sports a triple rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For taking selfies and video calls, it has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera housed in the waterdrop notch display. The phone packs a non-removable 6000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging technology.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, dual 4G VoLTE, 5G SA /NSA, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Galaxy M34 5G supports Dolby Atmos technology and comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometric authentication.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G is priced at Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs Rs. 20,999. The phone comes in Midnight Blue, Prism Silver, and Waterfall Blue color options and will be available via the Amazon website, Samsung.com, and select retail stores in India starting July 15, 2023.
The phone is currently available for pre-order for Rs. 999, and customers pre-ordering it will receive a free 25W charger worth Rs. 1699. As an introductory offer, customers can get a discount of Rs. 2000 with select bank cards. There are also 9 Month No Cost EMI offers available.

Should I go for M34 5G ( as it seems great option with amoled display/decent camera/ 4 years of updates )
Or buy a cheap 5G phone this year like Infinix Hot 30. Will it be a good phone for a year or so ? Next year I will probably buy another phone.
Which is more value for money in it’s price bracket ?
