South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched the Galaxy F23 5G smartphone in India as the successor to the last year’s launched Galaxy F22. Samsung Galaxy F23 5G is the first smartphone in the F-series lineup to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The phone includes a 6.6-inch Infinity-U display, 5000 mAh battery, triple rear cameras, Dolby Atmos support, and runs the Android 12 operating system out of the box with One UI 4.1 customization on top. It will receive two years of major OS upgrades and four years of security updates. Galaxy F23 5G comes with a RAM Plus feature that uses internal storage as a virtual RAM for memory expansion of up to 12GB and a voice focus feature that is said to reduce the ambient noise and amplify voice during calls.

Samsung Galaxy F23 5G specifications

Samsung Galaxy F23 5G features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2408 pixels) Infinity-U IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G (8 nm) chipset (2 x 2.2 GHz Kryo 570 & 6 x 1.8 GHz Kryo 570) paired with Adreno 619 GPU, up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage. It also supports a MicroSD card of up to 1TB for expandable storage.

In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy F23 5G comes with a triple rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN1 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 123-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone has an 8-megapixel camera on the front. Samsung Galaxy F23 packs a 5000 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging technology. However, according to reports, Samsung will not include a charger inside the Galaxy F23 5G box.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth version 5.0, dual SIM 4G VoLTE, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, 5G with 12-band support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging and USB on-the-go. Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, magnetometer, ambient light, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Pricing and availability

The base variant of the Samsung Galaxy F23 5G with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at Rs. 17,499, while the top variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs Rs. 18,499. As a part of the introductory offer, the base variant of the phone will be available for purchase at Rs. 14,999, and the top variant will be available for Rs. 15,999, which also includes Rs. 1000 instant cashback via ICICI bank cards.

Samsung Galaxy F23 5G comes in Forest Green and Aqua Blue color options and will go on sale starting March 16, 2022, via Samsung India e-store, Flipkart, and leading retail stores in India.
