Realme 8i, Realme 8s 5G, Realme Pad launched in India

Realme has launched its first Android tablet in India, the Realme Pad. It comes with a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, 7100mAh battery, and a 10.4-inch display.

Realme has launched the Realme 8i, Realme 8s 5G, and Realme Pad in India. Realme 8i and Realme 8s 5G runs on Android 11 OS out of the box with Realme UI 2.0 customization on top, while the Realme Pad runs on Realme UI for Pad based on Android 11 OS. Both smartphones feature a Full-HD+ hole-punch display, triple rear camera setup, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support. Realme Pad comes with a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC and features quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Realme 8i features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2412 pixels) IPS display with a 180Hz touch sampling rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and 600 nits peak brightness. The display supports six-level refresh rates, including 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 (12 nm) chipset paired with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 storage. It also has a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage (supports up to 256GB).

Realme 8i comes with a triple rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 5P lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.05 aperture and a 5P lens. The phone is fueled by a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS/ Glonass/ Beidou/Galileo, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include proximity, magnetometer, accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 164.1 x 75.5 x 8.5 mm and weighs 194 grams.

Realme 8s 5G features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the phone includes an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G (6 nm) SoC paired with 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. It also has a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage (supports up to 1TB).

In terms of optics, the Realme 8s 5G sports a triple rear camera setup of a 64-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and 6P lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. For taking selfies and making video calls, it has a 16-megapixel camera on the front with f/2.1 aperture and a 5P lens. The phone comes with a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W Dart Charge fast charging technology.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/A-GPS/ Beidou/ Galileo/ Qzss/ Glonass, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include proximity, magnetometer, accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The phone measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.8 mm and weighs 191 grams.

Realme Pad specifications

Realme Pad features a 10.4-inch WUXGA+ (2000 x 1200 pixels) IPS display with a 5:3 aspect ratio. The tablet is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 (12 nm) chipset paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. It supports a microSD card of up to 1TB. Realme Pad has a Night Mode that lowers the screen brightness to 2 nits to reduce eye strain in a dark environment, while the Sunlight Mode increases the display brightness to the maximum for proper outdoor visibility.

The tablet includes four speakers that support Dolby Atmos technology and Hi-Res audio. It also has dual microphones that help reduce environmental noise during phone calls. Realme Pad comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing and rear-facing cameras with a 105-degree wide-angle lens and supports face recognition.

Realme Pad comes with a 7100mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology and reverses charging via OTG cable. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, and a USB Type-C port. Lastly, the tablet measures 246.1 x 155.9 x 6.9 mm and weighs 440 grams.

Pricing and availability

The Realme 8i is priced at Rs. 13,999 for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs at Rs. 15,999. On the other hand, the Realme 8s 5G costs Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 19,999.

Realme 8i comes in Space Black and Space Purple color options, while the Realme 8s 5G comes in Universe Blue and Universe Purple color options. Realme 8i will go on sale starting September 14, noon, and the Realme 8s 5G will be available to purchase in the country from September 13, noon. Both smartphones will be available via Realme.com, Flipkart, and all leading offline retail stores in India.

Realme Pad price starts at Rs. 13,999 for the Wi-Fi-only variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The Wi-Fi + 4G variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage costs Rs. 15,999, while the top variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs. 17,999. The tablet comes in Real Gold and Real Grey color options and will go on sale starting September 16, noon via Flipkart, Realme.com, and retail stores in India.

Customers purchasing the Realme 8i smartphone using HDFC or ICICI bank cards and EMI transactions will receive a discount worth Rs. 1000, and customers purchasing Realme 8s 5G will receive Rs. 1500 discount. Customers purchasing Realme Pad using HDFC bank cards or EMI transactions will receive Rs. 2000 discount, and using ICICI bank cards or EMI transactions, customers will get Rs. 1000 discount.
