How bout those 5 lakh unique HBO viewers of Hotstar? Will they pay?

Sports comes with ads irrespective of OTT. If they are giving it for free. It is bringing more eyeballs and more space for advertisers. Advantage they have over linear TV. They can nake advertisers happy with targetted ads.

Free sports brings a lot of people to the platform. Just look at this IPL on average 1.5cr to 2cr live viewers very match. The number of unique viewers would be even more. Even if 5% of those people decide to subscribe for HBO/Paramount content that's massive W for them
