Sad News New e-commerce rules made Amazon India remove tons of products from their store

Brands like OnePlus, BPL have already confirmed that they will only go via Amazon because it's their strategic decision. They are not forced by Amazon to sell their products. It's business as usual on Flipkart. I think they don't have stakes with any of the sellers. I think Amazon will sell their stakes in CloudTail and will sell.

This policy will not be changed even if a new Government comes to power. We have to face it.
The problem they will face is with 25% clause. So even if Amazon sells stake in Cloudtail, and even if Flipkart don't have stake in WSRetail anymore, these sellers won't be able to sell more than 25% of their inventory on one marketplace. So Cloudtail can't have more than 25% sales from Amazon. The funny thing is, instead of putting onus of this rule being followed to the sellers, the government decided it's the marketplace's job. Also now they need to understand where else a seller is selling their products and how much of it. This is really stupid.

No, we are not heading towards stone age. Government will bend the rules when BBC (Bankrupt Billionaire Brotherhood) starts their own e-commerce. Just like TRAI's new tariff which is not likely to be applicable to certain upcoming companies.

Good Move by the government , It had done a good job in addressing the conflict of interest on the part of Amazon and Flipkart.

The idea is you can either run the marketplace, or sell your goods on the marketplace, but not both .

This (preventing and punishing monopoly control) is the high-level domino that can trickle through the supply chains and fundamentally change how we live. This is a climate solution .

India has always been just aggressively protectionist/nationalist in economics .

In that case same rule should apply for all marketplaces, including dometically owned ones like Snapdeal and upcoming Jio.

Good.
But we need a PM who dare to answer before parliament about national issues but not on rival political parties in govt programmes.
Off-Topic :Sorry for Off Topic reply but felt it necessary
Modi has never taken ACCOUNTABILITY for his decisions. No Answers/replies on arguments on Demonitisation, GST and So on.Always waiting to have his name in history by taking decision like Demonitisation, GST and Now Online Retails Issues. He is always ready with his bags packed to go to Foreign Countries to fuifull his dream to roam maximum countries and set a record in roaming maximum countries. He is always escaping.I can go on and on.

They do apply to snapdeal and jio too
Actually it's a bit more complicated since foreign players also are restrict d by FDI rules. FDI rules do not allow foreign companies to run inventory based business model but only pure marketplace model. however Indian companies are allowed to do that. So Amazon and Flipkart won't be allowed to keep their own inventory. But Indian players can run the marketplace in inventory model, so Jio can sell everything from Reliance retail and can have other sellers also participate by becoming Reliance partners in an inventory model.
