There is a time difference of around 5min.

It seems even Game of Thrones and Succession has these little (2 or 3min) discrepancies in duration.

I've not subscribed to JioCinema Premium. The person sent these screenshot confirmed that none of the 18+ scenes are cut but confused why there is a difference.

@Aksgr Could you pls pass this to your source?
The actual movie is 2hr 40min 56 sec
on Youtube : 2hr 40 min 54 sec (-2sec)
on APV: 2hr 40 min 50 sec (-6 sec)
on Jio cinema: 2hr 34 min 25 sec (-329sec)

Got confirmation that there is no cut in scenes. I don't have jio premium , so can you check if the credits are fastened or cut ?
As per source they are using the version provided by WBD.

On reddit, they're saying some scenes are sped up and as a result subtitles are out of sync.

I think the issue is actually with the player. Some frame rate related bug.

They converted the fps to 25fps that's why it's duration is less

When I compared one scene from Kaala side by side on both platforms, it was noticeable that Hotstar was speeding up the film by around 5%. After being asked about this on Twitter, the company said that this is the difference between NTSC and PAL speeds, and they use PAL which is slightly faster.

This doesn't seem to be a valid reason. PAL and NTSC are TV standards that operate on fixed frame rates and time constraints. Streaming video on the internet does not have either of those restrictions. And yet, here we are — pretty much everything on Hotstar, even HBO shows and Premium Hollywood movies, are sped up.

So what's the thing with Voot Select users? I have subscribed to it for a year but haven't got any promo code to use in Jio Cinema, has everyone got it?

Nope. Not yet... Anyhow, I felt it was totally waste of money since, I bought it for watching sports only, which it doesn't even stream now. Atleast, it would be making up if they provide the cupoun for JioCinema, which on the other hand streams sports for free. 😅

Cool bros. They can offer promo codes after Voot merger.

They have provided you the correct response. As in India most people have TV sets which support only 50 Hz (PAL) refresh rate hence many OTT platforms prefer to make content available in tbis format...if provided in 60 Hz then TV sets not supporting this format will have a judder effect visible while the content is being streamed. Earlier Disney+Hotstar made live cricket available in 60 Hz format and in my old LG LED TV frame motion was not smooth

As in most European as well as in USA NTSC format is in use hence all movies or TV shows r shot in 60 Hz refresh rate hence when in India OTT platforms or TV Channels have to convert the same to 50 Hz they have to slightly speed up content so that content recorded as per 60 frames per second format can be accommodated in 50 frames per second format
