overhead, tough there is provision for underground. No one is using it completely
Acha. Underground fiber daalte toh jyada acha hota. Underground fiber mein fault kam hote hai

T: Good. It would have been better if the fiber was laid underground. There are fewer faults in underground fiber

Once right of way is in place, expansion will pick pace. I remember after issuing letter to RWA in our area they took one year to start work of digging and putting fiber. I believe RWA ask for some cut before allowing the work to commence inside societies. I think after ROW is implemented effectively, they would not have to pay bribes and roll out will be done quickly. Only problem is that on ground things don't happen without bribes.

Update #3:

After delaying fiber expansion for many months, finally Airtel Fiber cabling has been done in my street today. The LCO said Airtel team will come after 5-6 days for the FAT box installation. Then optical power checking will be done by another team and site will be marked live for new connections. He was aiming that our locality will be live for fiber between 25th to 30th March. 🙂
Update #4:

Airtel team came and installed Airtel Fiber FAT box right in front of my house pole this evening, where JioFiber FAT box was already installed. 🤩 🙌

I got to hear a sad story from the Airtel Fiber FAT splicer guy because he was super impressed by JioFiber's professional cabling work in comparison to Airtel.

He mentioned that he used to work for JioFiber construction, before joining Airtel splicing team. Since Jio has stopped new optical fiber construction, he had no work for many months and had to join Airtel Fiber. He further said that JioFiber's materials such as cables, holders etc. were top-notch and Jio has invested a lot in their infrastructure, at least way better than Airtel Fiber's materials. However, since Jio has completely stopped the work, he had no other choice than joining an alternate company.

Here's a pic of the both FAT boxes in the pole.

Upperside FAT - JioFiber, below that Airtel Fiber FAT. The big round cable loop is of JioFiber's main OFC and Airtel Fiber's cable loop is tied on the left side near the FAT box.

Here they are installing the FAT boxes on the top of the building as they cannot install on poles due to local authorities issues
Bro, can you share the image of the FAT box that they are installing at your place?

I am just curious to see what kind of FAT the vendor has supplied there because at my place they have installed different looking FAT boxes earlier vs. now like I mentioned on my previous post.

I wish i could but its installed above on the terrace in the adjoining building, and i cannot get entry. I also really wanted to see.

Here as is said earlier, its not installed on light poles as local authorities are not allowing, hence its building to building.

I asked the local tech he said its a 8/16 port capacity FAT box.
